Program Description: CARIFESTA IX will comprise ten days of arts and cultural celebrations spanning two weekends. The Festival shall encompass a number of events that serve both the commercial/trade and artistic interests of artistes and entrepreneurs. These will include:
- THE GRAND MARKET
- CULTURAL INDUSTRIES TRADE FAIR
- BOOK FAIR (including poetry and prose reading)
- FILM FESTIVAL
- VISUAL ARTS FESTIVAL AND EXHIBITION
- SYMPOSIA
- COMMUNITY FESTIVALS
- SUPER CONCERTS
- WORKSHOPS / CLINICS
- PERFORMING ARTS
- SIGNAL EVENTS
- OPENING & CLOSING GALAS
- YOUTH & CHILDREN EVENTS
The Festival shall also comprise a number of innovative elements that will aid in transforming CARIFESTA to a ‘hallmark’ event. These will include:
- Full involvement of regional media
- A dynamic internet site
- Full involvement of the regional private sector particularly through endorsement and sponsorship deals
- Emphasis on artistic and entrepreneurial development
- Broadcasting to the Caricom community
- Web casting to the world

What we’re looking for:
- artists who will engage, spellbind, inspire, enrapture and/or captivate a diverse festival audience
- relate to themes and description above
- short performances: 15, 30, or 45 minutes
