


Literary Arts – “Telling Our Story”
(Youth Jamboree participants only)
Objective:
Write a short story or poem inspired by your CARIFESTA XV experience. It could be your country’s participation, a memorable performance, new friendships, or what being Caribbean means to you.
Submission Options:
Short Story: Up to 1,500 words
Poem: Up to 40 lines
Possible Themes:
“The Moment I Felt the Caribbean in Me.”
“When the Drumbeat Spoke My Name.”
“A Stranger from Another Island Who Felt Like Home.”
“A Day at the Grand Market.”
“What I Learned About My Island and Myself.”
Writing Tips:

Use vivid description, let the reader see, smell, and hear CARIFESTA through your words.

Write with emotion and honesty, your story should feel real, even if imagined.

Mix memory with creativity, you can write a reflective essay, a fictional story, or a narrative poem.
