Bridgetown, Barbados - As the countdown to CARIFESTA XV continues, the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) has launched a Driver Service Application initiative, opening up new avenues for local economic participation and employment during the summer lull that follows Crop Over and precedes the winter tourist season. Scheduled to take place from August 22 to 31, 2025, CARIFESTA XV is expected to attract thousands of cultural delegates and visitors from across the Caribbean and beyond. In preparation, the NCF is calling on qualified drivers with reliable
vehicles, taxis, sprinters, coaches, and mini-buses to register and support the
transport needs of the festival from August 20 to September 3, 2025.
“CARIFESTA XV is not only a celebration of Caribbean culture, it’s a vital economic
opportunity for Barbadians,” said Carol Roberts, CEO of the NCF and Festival Director.
“From transport operators and caterers to artisans and event professionals, this Festival
is designed to spread economic benefits widely and inclusively.”

The NCF’s open call to drivers requires applicants to have:
A valid driver’s licence and police certificate
A roadworthy, insured vehicle
Availability for training and service during the festival period
A commitment to professionalism and safety
The initiative forms part of the Festival’s broader objective to engage Small and
Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and independent service providers, injecting income
into multiple sectors of the economy and supporting livelihoods during a
traditionally slower economic period on the island.
Interested drivers are encouraged to apply online at carifesta.net or contact

As Barbados prepares to host CARIFESTA for the third time, the emphasis remains on
ensuring that local talent, labour, and businesses benefit fully from the
opportunity to deliver a world-class cultural experience.
CARIFESTA XV is expected to bring together delegates from over 25 countries,
with a full slate of concerts, theatre, fashion shows, culinary events, symposia, and
exhibitions planned. The Festival also features a Grand Market, Youth Village, and
extensive programming spread across national and community venues.
Barbados is ready — and Barbadians are invited to be a part of it.
