The curtains have closed on the CARIFESTA XV Village and Grand Market at Waterford, leaving behind 10 days of vibrant cultural exchange, entrepreneurial flair, and unforgettable performances. From savory Caribbean delicacies to handmade fashion, music, and dance, the festival brought together communities across the region, sparking joy, pride, and unity while showcasing the immense talent and creativity of local and regional artisans.

The Village was loved and enjoyed by everyone, sparking excitement and curiosity within people. Visitors immersed themselves in different cultures by trying popular Caribbean delicacies and foods, enjoying different music and cultural showcases, attending concerts and performances, and browsing at the many stalls which were in attendance. They took pictures and videos capturing the full beauty of the diverse cultures and crafts.

This entrepreneurial opportunity showcased the incredible talent and creativity that the region offers. Vendors displayed a variety of items from naturally produced skin care, oils, fragrances, sauces, accessories and remedies to handmade pure leather shoes, jewelry and uniquely designed fashion pieces.

On August 31 the Village held its last concert which consisted of various performers like school choirs from Eagle Hall Primary School and St. Cyprian’s Boys’ School. To large ensembles whose harmonies melted into one voice, filling the atmosphere with warmth and praise uplifting the audience.

Each night at the Village spotlighted different cultures through the Country Night programme, bringing people together while underscoring the beauty of diversity.
