The Minister of Culture says, “Join us for CARIFESTA XV!”

Barbados is ready to welcome the Caribbean and the world to CARIFESTA XV, the ten-day festival that will celebrate the very best of our region’s creativity, heritage, and talent under the theme “Caribbean Roots. Global Excellence.”

Speaking during the recently concluded Crop Over Festival, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office with responsibility for Culture, Dr. the Hon. Shantal Munro-Knight, called on the nation to rally behind this landmark moment.

“CARIFESTA XV will take place in Barbados as we invite the region and the globe to experience the best of what we have to offer as a region,” she said. “Barbados, this is something that we need to do together.”

With over 33 delegations expected, emphasis was placed on the importance of unity and national pride in making CARIFESTA a success. “We want them to leave here with a taste of who Barbados is, of what we are about, of what we also have to offer to the world,” she added.

She described the festival as a critical platform for artists and cultural entrepreneurs to showcase their talents on a regional and global stage. “I encourage you to come out, to participate… CARIFESTA XV is an event for our cultural entrepreneurs, our artists, to be able to showcase this excellence.”

This message reflects the true spirit of CARIFESTA XV. More than a festival, it is a shared national project and a regional celebration. From August 22nd to 31st, Barbados will become a vibrant stage for musicians, dancers, visual artists, writers, and performers from across the Caribbean and beyond.

Together, we have the opportunity to show the world what Barbados represents: rich cultural traditions, extraordinary talent, and a commitment to excellence.
